Wednesday Aug. 11 - Fifth day of the novena, and well into our pilgrimage
Couldn't blog last evening, so much happening late in the day, booking ahead for our next destinations. But our stay on the Chippewa reservation in Thunder Bay was splendid .. right on the north shore of Lake Superior -- especially the sight of a glorious sunrise at 5:30 this morning !
Through the day's travels to Kenora we saw healthy black bears roaming about, a number of deer less venturesome, and even a stand of large herons (never having seen them in a group). Sleeping in possible rain and significant wind will be a challenge tonight, but we did set our tent before heading into town for use of Wifi. Oh, and our camp site number is 13 - seemingly Mary's favourite number.
Being St. Joseph's Wednesday, we're asking some of his favourite clients (Philomena and Clare) to put in a word for our comfort and safety .. and especially for the successful completion of our journey and entire pilgrimage. The hoped-for plan is to be in Banff on the weekend, through Kamloops on Monday (a week since leaving), and back to Banff on the 22nd (after a bit of exploring Vancouver island) - the feast of the Queenship of Mary. Thereafter we'll make a bid for home by Sept. 1 , please God .. in time to celebrate the birthday of Mary on Sept. 8
May the Lord be praised in the sheer beauty of His handiwork of creation .. especially in the magnificence of each and every person !
Hoping the weather spares you... safe driving.
